after post-development
Hi all,
I am really interested to know if any of you have been working on alternatives to post-development theoretical understandings of 'development' within anthropology and if so...
what are the avenues that you have followed?
For my part, I have been working with science and technology approaches to understand and compare the complexities involved in using alternative tourisms as a development strategy in two specific communities in the north of Spain and in the Yucatan Peninsula...but somehow i have lost my faith and i can not find an alternative

Your comment/question intrigues me. I doubt that I can add anything to what you already know.
However, have you read "Expectations of Modernity" by James Ferguson? What might be interesting for an anthropologist is precisely that certain expectations continue to be associated with development projects.

did you write something about your work? I'm most interested in your line of work, basically my master will follow this line, development and tourism (and also expectations, thank you Alberto;) so would love to share some ideas with you. Cheers
