I think that post stamps represent a very interesting cultural aspect of a given society and since now nobody studied seriously their impact to senders and receivers of letters but also of collectors.
For this reason I established a group of ANTHROPOLOGY OF PHILATELIA and if you are interested or you know stamps fans you can invite them to contribute to the discussion that I think to start. This has to do with the image of the colonialised peoples during the colonization era when stamps were printed by the COLONIAL AUTHORITIES and their image after their liberation as they were expressed by their own INDEPENDENT STATES' GOVERNMENTS.

In my opinion, an interesting aspect is the case of folklore as represented in the colonial era that has to be compared with the realism of representations after the independence. I have in mind many African and Indian stamps that illustrate this crucial difference after 1960 and 1950 respectively.
