About me

I am Greek in origin, a Political Science first degree holder (Panteion University-Athens), with a 10 years gap between my first and second degrees. During that time I worked in the private sector (catering business, tourist industry, international trade) and in my sparetime I conducted self-study in psychology of dreams and philosophy of science. It was the unbearable positivism of academic psychology in combnation with my business travels to Asia (China, India, Indonesia) supported by my political (majorly Marxist-Anarchist) background, that directed me to anthropology. I got engaged with anthropology in year 2000 when I started my Masters degree, at UCL London UK. I continued with a PhD from 2002 to 2010 at the same institution.I was lucky enough to meet and be taught by Murray Last, Sandra Wallman and Phil Burnham (my supervisor), even Mary Douglas!

I conducted fieldwork in England on English ethnicity and in Ghana on African Christianity. I am currently an independent researcher teaching occasionally at the Social Policy department at the University of Peloponnese (Corinth-Greece). I am mainly concerned with Religion/Cosmology, Colonialism, Economy, Methodology, and the anthropology of capitalism.
