I don't agree that there is no activist angle to Catholic charismatics. So many of these religious movements gain impetus, persist, and grow, pushed as they are by some few individuals. Are you working in the Kottayam area?

What are you working on? There will be a panel on activism in India at the NO AAA, if you are interested.

Hi Julia.

I had read both about the journal and the panel. They sound like great initiatives, and I'd love to participate. I'll try to write something for the AAA Conference about my thesis or perhaps send you a chapter of my upcoming film, which deals with the 'sensuous experience' of being in a gated community. On the other hand, some friends and I founded a Journal 6 years ago about Urban Cultural Studies, called 'bifurcaciones' (www.bifurcaciones.net). It is an electronic-based journal that has discussed and challenged the traditional ways of academic communication. We have been indexed by several international institutions, have published authors from over 30 countries and today we are among the top 3 most read journals edited in Spanish. We currently publish not only articles and papers, but also interviews, chronicles, street photography portfolios and video essays. We are preparing ourselves to publish some soundscapes too. So, if you need any help with your Journal do not hesitate to ask, I'd love to participate or at least give you a hand.

You know, it's great that you wrote me. I think that the Sensory Ethnographic Lab is one of the most exciting places to do anthropology these days. I've followed Lucien's work for a couple of years, and I am very interested in being in touch and know more about what's going on in there. I'll write you again soon, as I am preparing -from Overlap- an exhibition in September about Experimental Ethnography. It'll be held at No.W.Here, and it will include films from Goldsmiths, UCL, U. de Barcelona, Porto Alegre, U. de Chile, SIC and Manchester. I want to invite the SEL as well, so give me a couple of days and I'll send you a proper invitation.

And Overlap it's not "my" group. If you want to become a more active part of it, you're more than welcome!

Let's keep in touch.
All the best,
