Anthropologists anonymous
'... I read my last ethnography yesterday, and I'm taking it one day at a time'.
I'm inclined to start a group that would be irreverent, take itself much less seriously than so many dour self proclaimed groups of great and epic importance - but damned if I can't work out how to do it anonymously.
I was once described as the enemy of anthropology, but at the same time only ever seem to be read seriously by anthropologists - thanks Mick, John, Victor, Paolo, Sarah, Rosie, Imogen... So in the spirit of the 'old enemy from within' - a la Georges Bataille - I welcome Keith's neverending effort to reconfigure the way anthropologists talk to each other... May this version of AA thrive.
But um, the Ning interface is pretty ugly. Do I need to spend long on this to find out how to tone down the pink?

On irreverence - I again take inspiration from KH whose "why should we" is a credo I can abide by - as in the comment "we don't even seem to agree with each other, but then why should we". For the greater glory of disputations in the ether. keep it up

No, don't be silly. Click on "change theme" and away you go. What's pink besides your profile pic? It's all blue as far as I can see.
Anyway you can't be anonymous here, admin have put the kibash on that. And watch the irreverence, that's gone down like a shower of shit as well.
